Great little video with Millie in full steam. I don't know if you are aware but there was giant lurking at the back in the shrubbery. :D

Opps, does my bum look big in this? There is no safe answer, just resign yourself to your fate.

I knew I had a surveying error but didn't know how much. The top level needs raising by about 20mm. This will affect the gradient - double heading?

If the picture is anything to go by and if it's not too long a distance. just for a short section you could use thinner wood, and/or could also put a bridge there again with a thinner base. In both case the track level shouldn't need to be raised.

I had intended to use a thin bridge deck as the gap is small enough for the track to cross with no support at all. It isn't very obvious from the pic but the chimney is above the bottom of the track. I have just resurveyed it and I seem to have a slight cumulative error with the lower level rising slightly and the upper level falling slightly. Fortunately the method of construction means I can raise the upper level quite easily without rebuilding the main supports. 10mm should do it.

It is complete, just a load of landscaping to do now. Our handy man also needs to do work on one wall.

It will look really good when the landscaping is finished.

One small criticism though if I may, if you intend to have a boat in the scene, the one you have seems to be a little over scale. :D

Graham, just a thought I don't know what plans you have for under the track but if you are thinking of filling any part or all of if consider using expandable foam. I don't know if you have used it before, but for starters be sparing with it.

I will need to post some up-to-date photos.

I'm the meantime my plastic and copper check rail modifications have not survived so today I took out the plastic check rail and replaced it with brass. This works well and the roundhouse engine no longer hits the frog.

Some happy snaps now that most of the landscaping is complete. Next spring flowers will be added in pots.

View from the garden end. There may be an addition of some of an urn in the middle for either flowers or a solar fountain.

Image

A new wall has been built to separate the railway from the pond area.

Image

At the far end I needed extra landscaping to cope with the gradient changes in that area of the garden.

Image

And finally the henge, at the mid winter solstice, just as the sun sets the shadow from the sundial covers the mystical stone mounted centrally in the arch. I have bookings from hippies already - well just one my niece.

Here is a driver's eye view trip around the railway.

I may have accidentally bought the camera Maurice recommended before Christmas!
