You must gave fantastic hearing. :D .

A prototype, that's how all things start off and little tweaks are made here and there until it is exactly what we want.

On the boat again. An unnamed individual to whom I may be married dropped the car keys in the canal. Fortunately I had bought my beloved one of those magnets as she fancied magnet fishing. Our finds so far - one bottle top, one washer and one set of car keys belonging to our car.

Cheers Graham

After all these years it is a bit late to be having doubts. :D

This morning we moored near Wolfhamcote to explore the old deserted medieval village and an old loop of the Oxford Canal. We took some snacks with us and had lunch in the old village.
Back on the boat to continue our cruise to Hillmorton.

Engine failed to start. I finally traced it to a bullet connector supplying power to the engine control panel. I have fixed it for now but will need to do a better job.

We are now moored at Willoughby about 2 hours behind schedule.

Cheers Graham

We turned just south of Hillmorton and headed back to Calcutt. It was a glorious day, sunny and just about the right temperature. We moored for lunch at Braunston.

The next day we dropped down the top lock to the wharf. Unusually, there was a hire boat moored side on to the wharf with one of our new neighbours, Dan, working on it. He told us to moor alongside. Jo did a very neat u turn and came alongside perfectly. In hindsight, I think about the fact that she had just turned a 62 foot boat in the confined space between two locks and moored alongside another one. Wow! She is good at this!

Pump out time with all the usual toilet humour!

Then it was back up the lock and onto our mooring.

It was pretty hot by then so we rewarded ourselves with choc ices!

A short trip but fun nonetheless.

Happy snaps.

The boys, they accompany us on all our trips.

St Peter's Wolfhamcote. It is disused now but has a quiet air to it encouraging contemplation. No lights, no heat, it appeals to my puritan soul.

This is all that remains of the Great Central railway neat Willoughby.

Thanks for the report and photographs.

Hopefully the disused church won't be left to contend with the elements. and be overtaken by nature.

It has been derelict in the past following the abandonment of its associated village but was restored. It is now looked after by an organisation that just looks after deconsecrated churches that cannot be used for another purpose. The name of the charity escape me at the moment. Needless to say you donate something when you are there. There is a service held there at Christmas - now there's a thought we coild sail there and attend it.

Thanks again Graham. I don't understand this, and wonder why not. It will give me something to find out.

We are on the boat for a few days. We are winterizing her early on the basis that if we all get locked down again I don't want to have to worry about the boat.

I was a bit surprised to find out I have to check in to the marina on the NHS app. I am nowhere near anyone here do don't quite understand why.

I have just put the electric blankets in the beds as well.

I don't think I will bother with an oil change this year as the boat has only done 20 miles since the last one.

Cheers Graham

It turns out that as people visit the business for the purpose of staying overnight Calcutt has a similar classification to a hotel hence the need to sign in.

Today I have winterized the boat and topped up the meters ready for lock down. I have also fitted a sleeve to the base of one loo which covers the metal work that holds the loo together. I guess the hire boat company left it off in her previous incarnation.

Do you want a photo of the loo?

Cheers Graham
