It is 'funny' (not ha ha) how people mention things and something 'sticks'. The Barnbow Lasses is one of them. Perhaps it is because I used to live not a stones throw away from Barnbow I do not know.

Then not further away was Thorp Arch (Munitions Factory Number 9) built in 1940/41. That factory would make a lovely model railway.

Then I began looking at other Munitions Factories in the UK. Many are forgotten. Not me.

I shall be outside Venice on the 11th November remembering the 9th Queen's Royal Lancers who 'have fallen'. My thoughts will also be with the many others (in all theatres of war) -- and the Munitionettes.
