That's it I'm going to sail into the sunset, a sad and lonely figure who for a small sandwich will tell you the Tale of the Ancient Dancing Narrow Boat Mariner. All 536 versus of it. I have made a start......

I have just received an e-mail from You Tube notifying me of the video, no mention of a health warning though. :D

I think that you had better get some more news, photographs or something to rescue this thread and get it back on topic. :D

Ok, I gave up on my long cruise into the sunset - the sun set.

Today I was at Odiham thinking about doing maintenance on Dawn and Madam Butterfly but the feeling soon passed and we drank coffee instead.

However, Arthur from Galleon Marine had some deck board and cut me some for the seats on the back of Dotterel. I just need to seal the edges and put them in place.

Cheers Graham

Lying on the sofa in the boat right now. Very pleasant. He painter has just about finished the final details. The tiller has a stripe and the hatches have a cream centre with cut outs in the corners.

I checked the smoke alarms and on has failed. A good reason to have two.

We are here for two nights and then take the grandkids back south for Halloween.

Cheers Graham

I've fitted the new smoke alarm and have removed some redundant pipe from the old connections to the old shower. They were dead ends and so had stagnant water in them. Not the healthiest of concepts. The early heavy rain made way to a glorious afternoon and We went for a walk around the reservoir.

Cheers Graham

Back on the boat having dropped off the grandkids. We arrived quite late and the sunset was gorgeous.

Graham, you seem to be at the right place, at the right time for those excellent photographs. :D

We had a nice evening on the boat last night, we watched Strictly Come Dancing but didn't approve of the result. Then, for a little while, we stood on the front of the boat and looked at the stars. It was very clear and we could see the Pleiades star cluster. Later it got a bit misty and that was good too. The light down by the locks making canal and boats look quite spooky. This morning we had a call from our son who needed a bit of support at home so had to head back south. Before we did I winterized the water system and put on the greenhouse house heaters so the boat is ready in case we get a cold snap. Cheers Graham

Another good report Graham.

I don't watch Strictly, but is it really won by talent, or does it come down to the public voting for their personal favourite celebrity, as often seems the case.
