Back from 2.5 days of plumbing. It was cold!!!
I've completely re-plumbed the connections from the tank to both hot and cold water supplies. The pumps and accumulator (if that's the right name) are all bolted down and the pipes adequately supported. I've also swapped to a simpler transparent filter for the cold water. There is a ceramic filter under the sink for drinking water. Apparently you can re-pressurise the accumulator with a foot pump. The only problem with my solution is that this is a bit inaccessible. The only other problem is that the drain cock is too loose for my liking and turns in its fitting when you put a hose on it! The final only problem is that I think one of the adaptors on one of the pumps leaks. I changed the one that leaked previously. I don't like them! I've drained the calorifier via the new drain cock using a drill powered pump, it took 7 mins. I'm still going to leave heaters in the boat as the arrangement of pipes means you cannot easily drain everything. I was a little chicken with the pipes connecting to the hot and cold water from this location and they are still at a funny angle but at least they are well supported now!
Pics of the new fittings are next. My woodwork is , as usual, strong but not necessarily pretty.
