23rd August 2007

When we left the boat after the trip with the Grandkids it was in a bit of a state so we decided to pop up give it a clean. This was shortly after the floods and we were surprised that the rear most of the two rear fenders was lying on the pontoon. This means that Calcutt marina must have come up at least 9 inches. Considering that it's built on a slope with raised sides on two edges this was quite alarming. Still everything seemed OK.

The telly is playing up even when on straight mains so I think we need a new one.

I was going to change the fuel filter but hadn't got a big enough spanner to bleed the injectors. (in hindsight I didn't need to bleed them!) Still that is another excuse for shopping for more tools

A few weeks later we spent another night on the boat and tinkered some more, the boat is now ready for our first full week trip, a bit more actually. We are thinking of going to Aylesbury as I like the arm and spent some of my childhood by the locks there.

We've got another TV now, it is quite small, takes about 1.5 amps and is designed for use in vehicles with dodgy supplies so should be OK. It's got both analogue and freeview. Probably won't get freeview very easily but may when (if?) they put up the power when the analogue signal is switched off.

Cheers Graham
