Niece and I have cleaned boat and turned her so we are facing Brum. Crew have arrived and are unpacking. We may drop down Calcutt locks later but it is not critical as the plan assumed crew arrival tomorrow.

We are now moored at the bottom of Hatton flight. The weather was pretty bad this afternoon so we decided to wait until tomorrow. No worries as we are ahead of schedule. Lousy phone signal so pics will have to wait.

Today We have come up Hatton and Lapworth locks. We followed a couple up Lapworth. Their boat is called Lockdown because that's when they bought it. We helped them up the locks and it was all very pleasant except for the heavy rain for the last 10. Anyway they were a delight to work with.

We moored up after the top lock to get dry and sit out the rain. We got going again and passed Lockdown. Much waving occurred and they flagged us down to give us a very nice bottle of red wine. What nice people.

We left the centre of Brum at 7.00 am and headed straight down the new main line. As soon as we got to Wolverhampton locks it started raining.

We are now moored at Wheaton Aston visitor moorings.

Another early start tomorrow as we want to go shopping in Market Drayton.

On of the most photographed bridges on the network.

High Bridge, No.39, Shropshire Union Canal Main Line.

Great pictures thanks.

Dotterel has entered the Llangollen Canal.

Sister has been learning how to drive again.

We are now moored above Baddiley Locks.

The bad news is that my bipolar mind decided to go down today and the black dog of depression took hold. A bit better now and should improve tomorrow.

It has been a pleasant day with some sun. We have come up Grindley Brook and are moored at Whitchurch. Jo is due to meet us here tomorrow evening. Unfortunately my sister has had a bad fall and will be going to A&E for a check up tomorrow.

We met some interesting boaters today. The hire crew who were moored on a water point and when asked by a boater to leave (they were not filling up), said they werent ready. After 10 mins, they moved to snother waterpoint

An incompetent hire boat crew bumped into us at Whitchurch a private boat tried to tell us off for mooring on the official moorings.

In the meantime, by popular request, the staircase.
