NRM, we anticipate that the restoration work to return iconic locomotive Flying Scotsman to steam will be completed in 2015, after a milestone moment in the project was safely passed this month.

Oh dear! Oh dear! Oh dear! Where's the apple green, if that's the way it's going to stay, I think it looks terrible. :( :( :(

It is the WW2 livery, and it has used the following numbers over the years, 103, 502, 60103, 1472 and 4472

I can sleep now, It will be repainted in its traditional green livery on 10 February for its journey from London's King's Cross to York two weeks later. :D

I have heard that it will be painted Brunswick Green first, the Apple Green later.

It would have been a bit silly to paint it in it's final livery, if some of it's tests failed and it had to be taken back to the workshops.
All you aneracks will want some oil, steam and smoke deodorant like that lady wanted. :lol:
