It is just plaster laid over polystyrene blocks then flattened when dry with a large screwdriver, carved with a craft knife and painted with gouache.

Thanks Graham, that's the method that I use. No wonder I like it. :D

The climb might be a bit steep to get a 4 coach train out but I had intended this bit to be mineral only until I accidentally included a station at the canal dock.

I have just noticed another accident Graham, OOPS. :D

I may have accidentally sawn some trucks in half. They were old one I had turns out that they may have been antique! My modified Playcraft coaches could be worth a lot too if only I hadn't hacked them!

Work continues the cliff has now got some greenery and been painted with a few different colours.

Considerable work has been going on but most of it below the track. The modern circuit is now complete and the station is on its way.

Image

With the DCC system I found that relying on fishplates is a bad idea so every piece of track has droppers to a bus underneath the board. This takes a while.

This is where the two systems separate via my modified Triang point, originally the Triang circuit was straight here but that meant the modern trains had to go through a curve on the modified points. Not good, so I reworked it to give the modern trains a straight run through the point.

Image

I have also started work on the hill in the coner above the quayside. One part of the wall is complete. The scenery will be mouse proof of course.

Keep on with the good work, you are putting me to shame. :D

(My layouts have definitely been 'neglected' for quite a while now. I don't know why I have just lost interest in them. Hopefully it is only a temporary thing with everything that has, and is going on. :( )

Interest does wax and wane I find. You may not have noticed but my last post was in March. The boat and house DIY have dominated things since then. At the moment the railway is in the ascendance. For how long? Who knows?

I came across an old photo of Little Snoring in the Marsh so took one of it now.

2010 Hornby Grange in platform Class 121 in bay.

2018 Hall in new 2nd platform, class 101 in the bay.

So we have a new platform, new tunnel, footbridge and the castle has moved!

I have been working on the undeveloped corner near Little Snoring Quayside.

New mouse proof scenery. You can also see the old board that was intended to support a backscene.

Image

This is the same are treated with basic surace texture prior to static grass.

Image

I have also trimmed the back scene support boards and painted them with a sky effect. This may become permanent. Sky doesn't suffer from perspective or point of view problems!

Image

Now Maurice, I can assure you I have started a thorough investigation of the railway accident in the canal and the board is due to publish in 2 years.

I may need to start another about that rowing boat though.

Cheers Graham

I am glad about that but it has taken some time already. Please keep me informed.

It's looking good, plenty of progress. Glad to see you have control over those pesky little meeces. :D

The chapel corner is now compete - I will need to add some cameos I think, perhaps some vampires by the chapel and wolves in the wood. Do you recognise the trees Maurice?

Image

The bit under the suspension bridge is now complete too.
