For Christmas Santa bought me a Camping Coach and 2 Mk1s in Chocolate and Cream.

The Camping Coach came from Frizinghall Models & Railways. It is based upon those at Hest Bank on the West Coast Mainline. The interior as supplied was all compartments so I've removed all but 3 and provided a few kitchen units, a bench and some tables instead. You can just see them in the photo. I'd like to do an interior based upon the ones I remember at Aberdovey and Morfa Mawddach on the Cambrian Coast. My two siblings and I adored Camping Coach holidays and I remember waking up and seeing a standard class 4 in the station. No running water, no loos, gas lights in the main cabin, no radio, no TV but we loved it.

Here is my Bachmann Hall leaving the unnamed top level station with the two Hornby Mk1s and an older Lima one. I am thinking of adding a few more details as these 'Railroad' models lack even the BR roundels.

Cheers Graham

Didn't you do well, I particularly like the GWR coach livery, and yes I also remember the camping coaches although I never used them. A great edition to your layout and well placed.

I am not sure if this site may be off use to you to enhance your coach details: http://www.sankeyscenics.co.uk

Looking good, still planning my garden railway at our mooring, could be a few years before I start that one though.

I quite like their boards to attach to coaches, I'd need the Cambrian Coast Express. When I was around 12/13 we were in a Camping Coach at Barmouth Junction (then known as Morfa Mawddach) and it was time to go home. We had a reserved compartment in a train that was not scheduled to stop at such a small station. It came in with two Standard Class 4s on the front and around 12 coaches. The guard was hanging out and waving his flag to give an indication to the locomotive crew when to stop such that our coach was in the short platform. The train stopped and then they had to get out the steps so we could get on as the platform was very low. I was impressed as this was the London Express, double headed by steam and stopping just for me (well and the rest of the family). Later going up Tallerdig Bank I think the coals may still be coming down from the blast from both engines. Wow!!!! Cheers Graham

Hi Keith, hope you are now on the mend. Where are your moorings?
:)

In view of size of your garden Keith what kind of layout and gauge are you considering?

The kitchen intrigues me.
That small oven how did it work?
What powers the ring burners?

Firstly I have just re-visited the video and although it says that there is no sound, there was for me this time.

I can't see the stove properly but I should imagine it's LPG, Calor or similar. In my earlier days I worked for 'Stoves Cooker Manufactures' as well as making many types of gas cookers that included a selection of LPG camping cookers they even made some that used paraffin.
