Glencairn is actually a small estate south of Wick. No matter what any modeller's licence could say, I just could not visualise Class 55s being that far north. Therefore I 'moved' Glencairn to the Kingdom of Fife; North West of Ladybank just before Newburgh. Glencairn Scholarsgate is in the town of 'Glencairn' . There was two stations in Glencairn. One belonged to the North British Railway Company; the other to The Caledonian R.C.. Both were terminus stations. Glencairn Scholarsgate Station belonged to the Caledonian Railway Company and survived the Beeching Cuts. The North British Station closed 1967. (As a 'North British' supporter and have a house very near where the the Border Counties Railway ran, that 'hurts' : ![]() |

It's your layout, you are allowed to 'move' is to any location you want. ![]() Great pictures, there is a lot going on in them. Do you have two separate layouts, or are the both connected in some way? |

Thanks Maurice. They are two different railways and ran separately. The Glencairn section is diesel only. The Sovereign Street section is steam only ; mainly little 0.4.0 locomotives. They both use the same fiddle yard and the 'main lines' split just after 'Wyndham Farm'. There is a third railway when the Grandsons' visit. Then Thomas, Percy and Rusty are seen. ![]() |

'Clarice' the canal boat is moving to a 'new home'. The backscene is nearly done. A new towpath being 'built'. Seeing how she looks in the landscape. Towpath done and fencing in place. New fencing along the railway line. ----- -- and painted. |

Horses are in the field. A new farmhouse for 'Wyndham Farm'. When we saw this in our local model shop, Lady G loved it so much it was duly purchased. I was going to put curtains etc. in it ,but Lady G said it would have shutters. Shrubbery etc added along the fence. Young Tommy 'greets' the boat owners. The finished scene. (Hopefully.) A picture only a camera can get. 'Clarice' hugs the backscene. I hope nobody wants to pass. My love of the countryside and the shades of green. A view from the control area. |
