What a surprise when I got up this morning to see my garden covered with snow and the pond frozen solid with a covering of snow. Thick snow on the tracks all services cancelled until further notice.

This first photograph is take from inside while the snow was still falling.

A picturesque view across the bridge, but where is the track.

Across the garden.

The pond with thick ice and snow on top.

Close ups showing the ice and snow on the pond.

The waterfall trough also iced up with snow on top.

Snowy to the rescue this is one of a kind loco. The body was originally a Bachmann Porter Loco with modifications mounted on an LGB 20040 Snowplow with the rear plow removed. .

Getting on with the task of clearing the line of snow and ice.

Making progress.

Job done and running again. Not bad for a BSA loco (Bits stuck anywhere)

Now back to playing trains.

Love it, I wonder if I should fire up my live stream engine? Cheers Graham

Thanks, Graham.

It is possible that live steam may not run while we are having this very cold weather, just a thought though. If you do try it, please let me know how you get on.

I ran Millie in 2010. She needed a pause between runs to get steam up! There is a video of her snow ploughing on YouTube here https://youtu.be/sOTfuwENb_M

Cheers Graham

that's great, and runs well in the cold so is only in rain that it will possibly have problems with the rain cooling the boiler.
