Just read this book. Amazing how by a twist of fate, someone who should be living in Canada never got there yet the rest of his family did. Just could not put the book down.

His great grandfather, great grandmother and their children were on their way to Canada. On the way, they stopped at a relative's house. As the family could not afford to take all the family, the relative bought one of the sons'. (Richard's grandfather). The family went to Canada leaving their son with the relative.. Therefore Richard's immediate family lives in UK, the rest in Canada. Amazing!

As you have said, it does sound like a very interesting read.
