A lovely picture book of Samuel Ledgard buses through the years. One of my favourite bus companies. I travelled on them regularly from Leeds and Bramhope, Leeds and Castleford and Leeds and Otley. They never had a bus stop except when in the Leeds area. You just stood at the kerbside and held your hand out as the bus approached. Very useful, as I finished work in Otley at 5pm and the bus left the bus station just across the road at 5pm. I never miss the bus. :D

There are actually photographs on pages 62 and 63 where I would stand as the bus left the bus station. I would hold my hand out to instruct the driver to stop as I wanted to board the bus. Delightful and wonderful memories.

I have a model of one of their buses on my model railway layout and am shortly to acquire another model. Memories, such lovely memories.

Sounds like an interesting book. Our local buses were St. Helens corporation and I also have scale models of buses of local routes. As you say memories, in St. Helens there is a transport museum and they have buses from that era there and occasionally do local trips, tickets 1d.
