BOATS AND CANALS

I was brought up living in Leeds when my mother died when I was three days old. My son bought me this lovely book, by Alan J Haigh. To me, an excellent read, especially the trams. The happy days I had travelling from Mean wood to Leeds city centre and back when I lived with my uncle and aunt and two cousins.
When I lived with my grandmother and grandfather, the journeys by tram to Leeds centre from Gipton.
Then travelling by bus from Leeds to Dewsbury to see my uncle, aunt and cousins, ( who had moved there because of work), then back home by train. I used to do that journey most weekends from the age of 9, yes nine, to the age of 24.
