I have been debating for some time now whether to reduce the number of my aquariums from 2 to 1. Over the years I have reduced from 4 to 3 then 2.

After returning from the shop this morning, I could hear the pump in my 3 foot deep tank, this tells me to top up. Still dark I started to pour in water from the kettle and noticed that the tank appeared to be only half full. I turned on the lights in the living room and saw that the unit supporting the tanks was wet along with the carpet.

I had to empty the tanks as soon as possible and transferred the fish into my 4 foot tank, finally emptying the tank I took it outside. I will check the tank later for leaks, but it forced my decision to get rid of 1 of my tanks. Maybe it was providence because I was debating to get rid of my 4 foot tank.

I just have the one tank now and of course my pond.

Glad you spotted the trouble in time.

I took the aquarium outside and filled it with water, I can see the leak but it is only a small one, so it must have been leaking for a day or two.

I could repair it but I will stick with just 1 tank.
