my grandson lost his job 2 weeks ago,you may have seen it on the news. a meat supplier serving top food chains went into liquidation with the loss of 300 + staff,
he had been there for nine years,only his second job since leaving school,he was at his first job for eight years.
He used to leave the house at 5.30am to catch two buses to get to work for 7 o'clock as he does not drive.
on tuesday he went for a interview for a job and started on wednesday, on friday the weather meant that no buses were running so he walked to his new job about 3 miles. He asked his mom to phone to tell them he was on the way, he arrived 7 minuets late,and said the the boss, "sorry i'm late but no buses are running "
his boss was well pleased he got to work saying your mom phoned to say you was on the way.......i mean he is only a child 33 years old
at 1 o'clock all those that went in were told they could go home and payed for the full day.
so a few brownie points for the grandson and sounds like a good employer..
