Dotterel is in the challenge again. We have a fairly casual route planned. 53 locks on day 1 absolutely none on day 2.

Cheers Graham

Sadly not this year. Now we are moored at Fazeley, the locks (Farmers) to get up to Birmingham will be too much for us.
I will miss it though
:)

Laurie, Here is a stupid idea. If you set off from Fazeley you could meet us on the day at Spaghetti junction. We will be coming through in the late afternoon exact time TBD and my crew could get both boats up to the centre of Brum for the night. Then repeat in reverse on the day after the challenge dropping you off around Curdworth on the way back for you to make your way back home at your leisure.

There will be five of us so we could have two per boat on each lock and you two can have a easy ride. We are not in any gea hurry.

The only problem is you be will start scoring on the B&F at some point and get all the locks up to Brum from Spaghetti junction too. No wooden spoon for you!

Would we be breaking the rules though?

Cheers Graham

Hi Graham,
Thanks for the great offer, it will be breaking the rules and we always try to get the wooden spoon :)

Wish you and your crew all the best for the challenge.

Laurie

Someone has broken lock two on the Oldbury lock flight. I am panicking now. They do say they will fix it today though.

I feel better already. Cheers Graham

ps Of course I won't reveal our course until the challenge has run its course. I do have a coarse idea of the course of course.

Bad news! My sister and her husband caught COVID from their grandchild despite being fully vaccinated. The disease itself wasn't too bad but they have both been left with quite severe post viral fatigue symptoms.

As a result we have pulled out of the challenge.

Sorry to hear that Graham on both counts. I hope that your sister and her husband are soon on the right side of things.

Best Wishes
