We are doing the challenge again. I have planned a route and am going through the plan with my crew on Tuesday. The 'do not open until 8am on the day' envelope has arrived. I just need to do a little bit to the boat now.

Cheers Graham

Is it worth adding a couple of farm animals to your crew this year.

For example, a COW catcher and a battering RAM. :D

The crew are here today to review the mighty plan. We are also discussing coming home a different route as this year all the crew are retired or hippies (or both) so there is no particular time limit.

Cheers Graham

Can you have a retired hippie?

No, I don't think so, I have never heard or seen an age limit. Just keep 'hippin' :D

Route is sorted, I think it plays to our strengths as a team. General rule is avoid long cursing sections as we seem to have a lower cruise speed than others. Most of the timing has been derived from our bow camera record. We have bits we can cut out if running late and bits we can add if early.

We have 4 possible routes home from easy - the other half of the Warwickshire ring to Netherton Tunnel, drop down to the Severn, downstream to Worcester, then up the locks to Brum again and back via Hatton.

Cheers Graham

Hippies are too far out man, to be retired.

I am beginning to panic slightly, the boat has had electrical problems. ( I'll put that in my blog) the gearbox oil, feul filter and air filter need changing, I'm on fill 2 of the 4 fill flush the water tank plan. The boat is a DIY wreck.

Cheers Graham

Hope to be seeing you at Titford, some complications with work might disrupt us over the weekend :(
So fingers crossed and hope your electric problems are soon sorted.
