A long time ago well Feb 1974. I went on a trip from Napton to somewhere north of Hinckley and back. On the way we hit a wreck, it was invisible and in the channel where you lined up for a bridge. The collision was so violent that the fridge jumped in the air and a can wedged under it.

None of the bridges on the Northern Oxford look right to me today.

This was the boat:-

My sister has been going through my Mum's old stuff and found a map which records the voyage we made (my sister was with me).

It shows which bridge it was. No 12 Anstey Waste Bridge. Now it makes sense it's been demolished since then.

The map also records the exact time I fell in at Braunston - 6:55 am!

Cheers Graham

I think most of us have been in at some time or other, mine was in a lock, I don't know about you, but believe it or not I can't swim, although my friends said that I did that day. On the funny side, but genuine, later when I was telling someone about they asked me quite seriously if I got out, I just laughed and said no.
