Ends At: Tinsley No.9 (Plumpers) Lock

Monday 18 April 2016 10:00 until further notice

Type: Towpath Closure
Reason: Vandalism

A forklift truck has been stolen and abandoned on the towpath between the Pump House and No 9 Lock, Tinsley. The towpath will remain closed until arrangements can be made for its removal.

Original message:

Unfortunately over the weekend a piece of plant, believed to be a scissor lift or similar, was stolen and has been driven into the canal at this location, totally blocking the navigation.

We have not yet got a timescale for the removal but we will issue an update when we have more information.

Given that this may take some days to remove there is an alternative route via the Wolverhampton 21 locks if passage is required.
