Huddersfield Narrow Canal Starts At: Lock 8 Ends At: Lock 8 Up Stream Winding Hole: Lock 12W Down Stream Winding Hole: Lock 7W Monday 31 August 2015 until further notice Type: Navigation Closure Reason: Structure failure -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update on 01/09/2015: We anticipate the repair work at Lock 8W will be fully completed by tomorrow morning (Wednesday). We will provide a further update tomorrow when the lock is reopened. Please note this will only open the canal as far as services at Grove Road. Original message: Unfortunately the Cill has failed at lock 8W and the canal is closed. We have attempted a repair this morning but this has been unsuccessful.
