The ban on hire boats travelling the tidal Thames between between Brentford and Teddington has been lifted. They are still considering the section between Limehouse and Brentford. See http://www.canalboat.co.uk/news/news_2_12053/thames_tideway_hire_ban_lifted_1_4008753

Personally I think it is insane for any inexperienced boater to be on the Thames though London. Of course some hirers will have loads of experience!

Cheers Graham

I was't aware of the ban until I watched Tim and Pru last Sunday, but I have never needed to know, not cruising around there. As long as hirers are sensible and take notice of warnings etc. all should be fine.
