Episode 1:
Timothy West and Prunella Scales embark on a waterway adventure, starting in the romantic city of Oxford, where they began their courtship many years ago. They follow the gentle contours of the Oxford Canal through the Cherwell Valley, where they meet novelist Philip Pullman and are joined by their son, fellow actor Samuel West. Tim and Pru follow in the footsteps of author Tom Rolt, whose vivid account of his journey down this canal in 1939 ignited a campaign that went on to save Britain's canals from extinction.

I'll make a point of watching that. They'll be travelling up the valley just below my house ...

hope it's as good as the first series, which i thought was super, which had far more input about the waterways than what is showing with the present barging around britain..love tim and pru.

Really enjoyed the first programme. Memories of Oxford. Wonder who admitted damaging the lock gate?

I also enjoyed the programme. It was an easy going presentation and brought back many memories of my earlier holidays.

Enjoyable and quite funny at times, The south Oxford isn't an area we have been, but possible in 2016 when Sorceress comes south, so something to look forward to.

i too really enjoyed this programme, tim and pru look the perfect couple. i suppose being a hour long helps to get more
into the waterways, and the years they have been boating helps with there imput with the production team.
i wonder where all the camera crew ect sleep, maybe a motor home follows them,as we don't seem to see another boat keep cropping up in any of the shots,
how brave pru is to be handling the locks ect with her illness, and what a wonderful gentle person she is,goes to show what a wonderful actress she was in her role as sybil in my favourite series fawltey towers.
looking forward to next week...
