I've been clearing out my Mum's house and came across some old postcards of Napton locks she bought in around 1973. This view down the bottom two can be compared with my more recent one. the tree growth is interesting, by the way let Jo have a rest it was up in the 80s that day. ![]() ![]() I like the boats beneath the lock. ![]() The bottom lock looks much the same but the house is plain brick now. ![]() Cheers Graham |

Those bring back memories! Seeing the old Morgan Giles cruiser-style narrowboat prompts me to ask if many of these survive? Most were made during the late 1960s, until Morgan Giles ceased production at Teignmouth in 1969. There is a register, but only four "narrowboats" appear to be listed: http://www.morgangilesyachts.org.uk/cgi ... perpage=15 I believe the moulds for making these boats were purchased by some guy in the late Seventies and were last seen in a field near Steeple Aston. |
