I was up at Odiham today working ( well kind of consulting) on Accessible Boating's boats.

Right behind us is a very cute boat.

I also took a few photos of general things

This is Jake working on the weed hatch seal - didn't his Mum tell him about doing DIY on the nice new table cloth?

Image

We have some nice new aluminium steps on both boats - paid for by various local concerns. They need to be light 'cos they sit on top of the lift and have to be removed to allow wheelchairs into the boat.

Image

The stove has an interesting fault as the safety valve that switched off the gas when the gas goes out seems to be sticking so you only get a small flame. If you press the knob a few times it clears itself. We also had some trouble lighting one ring and I couldn't understand where the sparking noise was coming from. It was in the cupboard! The spark creating bit was damp and the spark was earthing across the surface rather than across the ignition gap.

Our electrical engineer, Dave, got on with it.

Our day boat is in service but the Holiday boat isn't needed until the 17th May so we have a bit more time.

It was a bit depressing to see all of Galleon Marine's boats in the dock - the Basingstoke Canal is open and very nice. You can get down to Woking and back in a week.

If anyone with mobility difficulties wants to take a trip on the canal but can't afford to rent the whole boat we are running a service on May 18th where you can book just one place at £10 a head. - Opps another plug sorry.

Cheers Graham

Don't worry about the plug, it's all for a very good cause.

Good to see that you are getting down to it. :D

Cute boat.

Jo is doing very well thanks. We had a minor glitch when she had to have antibiotics. They stop the anti depressant being absorbed properly so she had withdrawal for a few days. It wasn't until I was absent mindedly gazing at her pills that I put two and two together. Moral - antibiotics can reduce effectivnesof all drugs - ask GP if they prescribe them. Cheers Graham

I beleive it is a replica of a tug.It might be to a reduced scale. Cheers Graham

I like that one too, I wonder if Jo would do the chauffeur bit?

This one used to be on the summit level of the Southern Oxford.

I had another look yesterday and it is a replica powered by an inboard out board if you see what I mean!

Cheers Graham
