Does anyone else pine after this kids TV series. I was in love with Annette Robertson for some time afterwards. It was a formative show for me. Anyway it still exists could be released on DVD. I've sent a request to the owners and received a somewhat dismissive reply. Can others who are interested also send in requests please!!!!!! See https://networkonair.com/shop/contact-us I said :- I am interested in obtaining a copy of the Flower of Gloster TV series shown in 1967. This series was my first exposure to the canal system and has generated a lifetime of interest. I am sure that many other boaters growing up in the 60s would also be interested. They said:- The Flower of Gloster is not a title we currently have on our schedule and it is not possible for us to comment on the possibility of releasing this at present, however we do welcome customer suggestions for forthcoming titles. In the meantime, please keep an eye on the Network website for any updates we may have on this series and all other future releases. Cheers Graham |

The series is available on Amazon Prime Time! There is also a book out by Bill Grundy, the Producer of the programme. |

Great News, I remember Bill Grundy responding to our request at the Manchester Branch of the IWA for a talk on the making of the series.Granada said that they would not be able to show an episode as the film was a double header ie the sound was on a separate tape. We had our meetings at Manchester University Roscoe buildings and the largest auditorium seating about 400 (Full to bursting for the meeting) was equipped with a the correct type of projector. I knew this because I worked for the UK distributors and we had at that time only sold two in Manchester.We were treated to an episode on a very large screen in the sort of quality that can only be achieved by top class film. |

They have put back the release date until 11th April. I'm not sure I can survive that long. I'll just go and sneak a look at the photos again to keep me going. Cheers Graham |
