Thanks for the good wishes. I hope Laurie achieves the placing he wants this year. We have completed our first positioning move. Still moored at Calcutt but facing the right way. Cheers Graham

We will leave at around midday tomorrow. Heading via the North Stratford route for a change. Passing Lady Lane on Friday to start point so secret I haven't told myself.

Cheers Graham

Bad news I am afraid, owing to some health issues we have had to withdraw. We did meet Laurie today so that was nice and our withdrawal leaves the field clearfor him to take the victory.

Very sorry to hear that Graham, I hope it's nothing too serious, I know that you were really looking forward to it again this year and have put a lot of preparation into it.

So, Laurie is now carrying the flag for us. Go, get 'um Laurie.

Interesting development, we did actually cruise part of the BCN during our return trip. It was from Perry Barr top lock to Salford Junction. The organisers have told me to submit my log showing this. I may stand a chance of taking the wooden spoon off Laurie!

Cheers Graham

By the way we are at Atherstone taking the easier route home.

A wooden spoon can always come in handy. :D

Hope the health issues, if not already sorted will soon be. Best Wishes Maurice.

Thanks Maurice, the bad news is 13 locks and 2.5 miles on a canal with a 2.5 multiplication factor us the extra 10% for length means we will probably beat Laurie.

Cheers Graham
