Well that has mucked up my chances of winning.

Bad news on the drinking front Laurie, it looks like the aqueduct will be open. Not that I'm saying I am going that way or anything.

It seems that the M5 above the Old Main Line needs some repair with scaffolding around each pillar. This is the section from Spon Lane to Oldbury Locks. This may cause some delay they say, I am now expecting to be delayed along with 49 other boats trying to finish the challenge.

My beloved better half tells me to be positive, it may not happen. But it might.....

Sulk Graham

Aaaagggghhh!!!!! Now there is a bomb in the canal - well next to it and Aston Locks are shut. Will this torment never end? Not that I'm saying I'm going that way of course.

Well the bomb has gone to bomb heaven and I am getting ready. I have a crew of 7 so have a touch more bedding to sort out than usual. Groceries are ordered for Tuesday evening. I have sent detailed instruction to those that haven't been to Calcutt before. Plan is to meet Wednesday set off and moor in Leamington that evening after 23 locks and 10 miles.

I have prepared detail plans to enable Sis to record progress.

Getting excited now.

Cheers Graham

We came up Hatton in 2 hours 20 mins. Then it was up Knowle locks to a night time stop. Today we have come down Camp Hill and Garrison locks and are now on the way up Perry Bar. Mooring for night at the top 40 mins from our start at Rushall Junction.

Cheers Graham

We set off at 7:20 and were at Rushall Junction at 8 for our start, we did the Thame valley, Walsall, Wryley and Essington to the Cannock Extension and Angsley Branch, then down the Rushall doing the locks on the dark. Set off again at 4:41, now going up Ashton locks heading for the finish.

Cheers Graham
