Excellent videos, I lost count of your trips down the weed hatch. One day I'll go down my weed hatch and find weeds.
:)

10 times down the weed hatch. Objects included - a washing machine front door seal, a large catcher's baseball glove, a video tape (without case), a nice pink towel (slightly shredded by prop), a knotted jumper (why knot a jumper and then put it in the canal), lots of that strong transparent plastic, comparatively few plastic bags for shopping and once (brace yourself) only weeds!!!! The most useful tool this time was a junior hacksaw.

Now for the start prize - on one of the videos a boat goes the other way with a girl, on the front deck, who seems to have forgotten her T shirt and bra! I didn't know where to look - well I did but carefully kept eye contact only.

Cheers Graham

Now for some happy snaps:-

My happy crew before they got to Birmingham. They had done 61 locks by then.

Thanks for the photographs Graham, as usual they are excellent.

Could the ' rather sad little building by Spon Lane Locks' be a toll house?

Oops I got the location wrong it is Smethwick Locks! Apparently it is a replica of the one that used to be on one of the islands you find in the main line. The original here used to be square.

After having a hectic few days, I will let you off. :D

I did a search and that is the one (as below) that I base my assumption on. :D

I second that Pete, I like blue, (nothing to do with sports team), but this colour scheme is a real winner for me. :D

Apparently the results are delayed by an investigation by the organisers. Perhaps someone is disputing Laurie's claim on last place? Cheers Graham

The enquiry seems to be over but what was being discussed/disputed I don't know.

The results

Dotterel - score 179.8 - 22nd place, 6 up from last year.

Clarrie - score 52.5 - 35th place - exactly where Laurie wanted to be.

The decision to accept being late and to do the Wednesbury Oak Loop actually gained Dotterel 4 places. Interesting tactic.

The winner scored an amazing 347.2 points - next year's plane needs to be more edgy.

Cheers Graham
