Well come on Laurie came where, or are you letting Laurie tell us. :D

Hi Graham, where did you get the results from?
I can't find them.
There were 42 boats entered.

Well done to both of you. It's not the winning but the taking part.
At-least you finished Laurie, and didn't end up in the pit lane. For a Butty pair that was good of Nuneaton and Brighton aswell.

Two years ago we broke down twice on the Challenge and didn't get to the finishing post, As it was getting late and I was beginning to make silly mistakes, I pulled over and called it a day. So I called the organizers to let them know, which they apreciated and still gave me points for where I had finished and a plaque :)

The whole crew enjoyed it and have committed to next year. On the Wednesday after the event Chris and her partner bought there own boat and sailed it from Whilton to Aylesbury - so perhaps we can have a convoy next time. In the meantime Claire is helping her partner up Caen Hill flight as I type. I doubt we'll get that boat from the K&A for next year - but.... if we did I could have a fleet - call myself an Admiral......

Lessons for next year

Do not let Claire text and drive
Do not let Tom eat beef whatever they were things wot Claire liked.
Pay attention to the treasure hunt clues.
A little more (any?) route planning is good.
We worked locks at about 6 minutes a lock when unobstructed in the flights.
We cruised at about 3.5 mph.
I am getting Bargee Bill's prop cleaner for next time.
I need a second memory card for the time lapse camera for day 2.
Take a little more time to get there.
Buy more crisps.
Buy more Pedigree, Mild and Mackeson's Stout.
Make a clear statement on when the sun is above the yardarm to stop arguments over rum.
Allow more time to get home so we can stop at the end for the night.

Cheers Graham
