This video shows the moment a fly-tipper was caught on camera dumping a haul of black bags into the Rochdale Canal.

It shows the culprit launch the rubbish into the water off Woodbine Street, Newbold, before sauntering back to his car, apparently unaware he was being filmed.

The video was taken by residents fed-up with 'shameful' fly-tippers dumping rubbish in the waterways near their home.

Environmental Health officers are now investigating.
Officers investigate all incidents of fly-tipping and take action against individuals responsible for the waste."

What a shame the video is such poor quality. Cameras are so cheap nowadays, and with this one it's impossible to work out the registration. Bloke looks young though - early 20s? Enough for someone to identify the car and owner, perhaps?

With a bit of luck the locals may be able to.

The thing I don't understand is why not just put the rubbish out for the bin men. Cost nothing and it's must cost money to drive about dumping it.

There were two separate threads for his video, so I have merged them.
