BOATS AND CANALS

A trust that for almost 30 years taking senior citizens and children with special needs and disabilities, has run its last trip on its boat the Venturer. It was decided that its services would have to come to an end because operating the boat was no longer financially viable.

A decision has to be taken about the future of the boat. it will probably be sold the proceeds donated to charities that the trust has worked with.

Venturer carries a maximum of 12 passengers, the most it can rake without a higher qualified crew. It is adapted with wheelchair access, lift to the cabin and disabled toilet and shower. There is a large kitchen, separate seating and tables that convert into additional beds for occasional overnight stays

That is very sad. Times are difficult their income is about a third of that of Accessible Boating and their expenditure seems similar. I would love to buy their boat but we don't really need another day boat right now.
