We visited Chichester Basin today as we hand heard they have a new Visitor's Centre. We had a coffee and a bun there and were impressed with the new building.

This is the centre.

And the view from the first floor - the balcony would be nice in the summer.

The trip boats were wrapped up tight.

And finally I do like the new architecture

It's looks good, hopefully the visitors centre will get many visitors.

What was your coffee and bun like? :D

Coffee was a filter one that drains through an attachment on top of the cup - quite nice. The bun was a Bakewell tart. Very nice. Cheers Graham

Hi all

Being from the South coast, i`m assuming Chichester basin would be on the bank of Chichester Harbour, is there a canal near there that`s still navigable?.

The basin is in Chichester and a canal connects it to Chichester Harbour at Chichester Marina but is currently unnavigable. They are trying to reopen it and short cruises are available from the basin in season. The canal also used to connect to the River Arun and there is talk of reopening in that direction too. Cheers Graham
