Thanks, all credit for the electrical work though must go to Robert my son, I did foot the bill though. The 'smoke' effects as you call them are actually electronic water misters.

Mist Makers use a piezoelectric transducer for a high frequency mechanical oscillation just below the surface of the water - well you did ask.
